POSITION: Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Construction Manager
COMPANY/DEPARTMENT: Electrical Maintenance and Construction (“EMC”)


Job Description: This position will diagnose and repair simple and complex automotive issues, and perform routine maintenance on our trucks and equipment. A qualified candidate will use diagnostic equipment to pinpoint issues and develop a cost-effective solution for repairs. The ideal applicant will have exceptional customer service skills and be willing to spend the necessary time on issues as they arise.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic systems and equipment
  • Provide preventative maintenance on multiple types of trucks and equipment
  • Repair and service air brakes
  • Perform wiring of trailers
  • Communicate in an effective and professional manner with customers
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment

Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, this position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending as required, and handling, feeling and gripping objects. Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed as well as climbing ladders and/or stairs.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher level
  • Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
  • Good communication skills
  • Reading skills (Basic instructional and technical information)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic
  • -OR -
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Must have clean driving record - CDL preferred
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds
