JOB DESCRIPTION: As an Electrician Apprentice you will work directly under the supervision of a qualified Journeyman Electrician in the installation and repair of electrical systems.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Helping install power supply wiring and conduit such as EMT, Rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, and cable tray
  • Assisting with troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
  • Helping to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, lighting, and power supplies
  • Measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools 
  • Tracing out short circuits in wiring, using a test meter
  • Examining electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools
  • Constructing controllers and panels, using power drills, taps, saws and punches
  • Cleaning work area and washing parts
  • Maintaining tools, vehicle, equipment, and keeping parts and supplies in order
Minimum Requirements:
  • Current Texas Apprentice License
  • Minimum 1 year electrical experience (2+ years of electrical experience preferred)
  • Previous oilfield experience and knowledge is preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher level
  • Basic computer knowledge (windows, email, internet, etc.)
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Reading skills (basic instructional and technical information) -OR-
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Must have clean driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree
  • Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs
  • Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending
  • Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities
  • Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed
  • This role may be subject to external environmental conditions
